Senior Substation Electrical Engineer

Job Summary

POWER Engineers is currently seeking a senior level electrical engineer to provide Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) support for our Central Region Power Delivery Substation Departments. This position is based in our Madison, Wisconsin office and may be hybrid, full-time, part-time, or temporary at the candidate's preference.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Perform QA/QC for substation project deliverables to clients across multiple offices.

  • Ensure POWER quality procedures are followed and that the team is resourced in an optimal manner.

  • Mentor less experienced staff in substation project execution.

Required Education/Experience

  • Ability to function as a Senior Substation Electrical Engineer based in our Madison, Wisconsin office and specializing in QA/QC.

  • Experience in 15kV through 345kV physical and electrical substation design, and IEEE/ANSI standards.

  • Experience in managing 5 or more people on a project team.

  • Experience filling the role of project engineer for several projects occurring concurrently.

  • The candidate must have strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel.

  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship.

Desired Education/Experience

  • Ten or more years experience in utility substation design is preferred.

  • BSEE (BS in Electrical Engineering) or BSEET (BS in Electrical Engineering Technology) degree, from an accredited university preferably with a power option.

  • Professional Engineering license (PE).

  • Experience with - and established positive relationships with - Central region clients.

  • Experience in 345kV through 500 kV substation design.

Salary DOE: The pay range for this position is $70K - $115K per year; however, base pay may be higher or lower depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This figure does not include additional compensation such as health benefits, vacation, 401k, etc.
