13546BRDepartment Name:HSP Medical Staff Svcs Location:Meriter Hospital Job Description:The principal purpose of the Credentialing Specialist position is to provide direct support to the Medical Staff, Credentials Committee, physicians & other applicants for medical professional credentialing of initial applications and recredentialing. This individual focuses on adherence to the various regulatory requirements including accrediting bodies, CMS, federal and state regulations as well as the Medical Staff bylaws, policies and procedures and obligations to Meriter Hospital as it applies to appointment, reappointment, credentialing and recredentialing applications. Additionally, this person is cross trained in many areas and will back up the Credentialing Coordinator and Medical Staff Support Services Manager due to absence. This is a hybrid remote role following successful completion of the 90 day probationary period.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Medical Staff Services, or other Administrative, Business, Health Information Management, or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Minimum 3 years of Administrative support experience or experience working in an office environment

  • Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Coursework in medical staff credentialing

  • Experience working in a Medical Staff Office performing and supporting provider credentialing and privileging activities

  • NAMSS Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) certification.

  • Knowledge of and experience working with provider performance management to include analysis of quality and procedural data

  • Experience working with Morrissey or Echo credentialing software

  • Experience with privilege form creation and updates

  • Experience facilitating and supporting a hospital Credentialing Committee
