JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The Influenza Research Institute (IRI) is an active and growing influenza laboratory supporting cutting-edge research employing about 30 scientists, post-docs and technicians located on the west side of Madison in the University Research Park. The work is conducted under highly technical conditions and the Operations Team is looking for a Facilities Technician III to support the Institute. The position will support laboratory operations, building maintenance, equipment procurement and inventory, plus supporting BSL3 activities including equipment oversight. Some of these activities may require work in BSL3 laboratories at the IRI. The individual in this position must have their own transportation and valid driver\'s license, be able to lift 50 pounds, be willing to be after hours on-call and have good communication skills with a willingness to support a research team environment. A criminal background check will be conducted prior to hiring. Responsibilities: Inspects, maintains, and repairs specialized equipment and facilities to ensure property meets established standards and to prevent further damage.
