The Bistro/Retail worker is responsible for serving customers. This position can be taking and delivering orders for customers or preparing sandwiches, salads, and grill items. Slices meats, cheeses, and helps the cook prepare specials and soups. While working in both of these areas, foods must be prepared and delivered in a safe and sanitary manner to ensure the public is protected. They also make coffee and specialty drinks.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

  • High school or GED is desirable

  • Must have the mathematics skills and the ability to read, write, and comprehend written and verbal instructions.

  • Basic sanitation knowledge is required.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Flexibility to learn hot and cold food preparation as well as dining room service and coffee experience.

  • Manual dexterity to work quickly when demanded.

  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and team worker skills.

  • Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.

    Preferred Requirements:

  • Restaurant or food service experience desirable either in kitchen preparation or dining room service or coffee house. Must be able to work within team setting as well as independently

  • The reasonable training time required to become proficient in the Bistro table attendant/kitchen prep and Dr. Joe operation position is 3-4 weeks.
