JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The Wisconsin Union is looking for a food service professional to join our Union South and Memorial Union retail teams. As an Assistant Manager, you\'ll work alongside other professionals and students, utilizing your skills and talent to lead a high-quality food operation for the UW Madison community. This position will manage day to day operations of indoor and outdoor restaurants located at Union South and the Memorial Union. The person in this role will oversee all aspects of full service operations. This role will also supervise full and part time staff including student supervisors and student employees. Strong leadership and customer service skills are required to be successful. Responsibilities: Oversees daily food service operations including staff management and/or customer issue resolution in environments such as dining, retail, and/or catering venues to ensure customer satisfaction and achieve food service goals. This individual identifies work unit needs and contributes to the development of unit processes and procedures. 50% Develops, implements and oversees workflow components, and assigns and coordinates the day-to-day activities of food service staff 10% Selects, develops, implements and schedules logistics and menus for daily and catering operations 25% Leads and provides exceptional customer service, answers questions, and provides information regarding food preparation, catering, and associated activities 10% Assists with unit budget monitoring, management of inventory levels, and staff training 5% Monitors adherence to federal, state, campus, and local food safety regulations, policies, and procedures, identifies needs and makes recommendations for improvement to leadership Tasks: Plan and execute Badger Bash, Welcome Week, and other special events throughout the year.
