Carter Express, Inc. Forklift Operator Training Supervisor in Madison, Alabama
POSITION SUMMARY
As a team member in our Training Department, you will be a part of Carter Express competitive and lively work environment. As a Forklift Operator Trainer, you are the center of supply chain cross docking in the Carter Network and play a vital role in the manufacturing of popular brands of vehicles seen on the road today. This role requires attention to detail, ability to perform in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES and ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Help plan and coordinate Forklift Operation focused training programs for all employees based on operational need.
- Conduct classroom training and hands on training events for all new hires and in support of cross training initiative
- Support development and maintenance of training curriculum, documentation, and course presentation materials
- Document and maintain training records for assigned operational units and class participants.
- Serve as Mentor to new hires through their first 30 days post Forklift Operation training.
- Conducts mandatory training programs for all new personnel (i.e.: Forklift Safety, etc.)
- Define, clarify, and validate training requirements and specifications.
- Conduct process audits to ensure trainees follow defined operational instructions.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or GED required.
EXPERIENCE:
Must have strong organizational skills along with excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Must be self-sufficient and self-motivated.Prior warehouse and forklift training experience highly preferred
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Proficiency in Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook email required. Must have the ability to learn new programs as necessary.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise a team of trainers up to 10 persons, payroll management, and general team moral.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Solid work history and willingness to successfully function in a team environment. Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position is a hands-on position located primarily at our training facility. You will need to follow all correct and proper PPE requirements set for entering the dock area. Such as but not limited to, wearing a reflective vest, shirt, or jacket, and steel toe shoes or shoe coverings.
