SAMARITAN MEMORIAL HOSPITAL IT Systems Administrator (Information Technology Systems Administrator) in MACON, Missouri

Position summary:

The Systems Admin is responsible for low level services in the IT department including, LAN equipment, Server hardware/software and related devices. Position will also cover for other staff as needed or designated by IT Director as well as be part of the on call rotation schedule.

Role qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience in System Administration or similar role
  • Bachelors degree or 7+ years of technical experience

Position responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain documentation related to all IT resources and systems
  • Maintain and support VMWare environment
  • Maintain and support Storage environment and backups
  • Maintain and support LAN resources
  • Excellent written, oral, presentation and organization skills
  • Create technical documentation for IT processes and procedures
  • Create and deliver educational resources to end users
  • Establish and maintain integrity of data networks
  • Provide helpdesk support for end user devices and staff
  • Work directly with applicable outside vendors
  • Responsibilities may require evening and weekend work
  • Responsible for being part of on call IT Support team

Essential skills and experience:

  • Self motivated, cooperative, flexible, creative, team player
  • Experience with network infrastructure technologies; IP addresses, DHCP, QoS, DNS, routers, switches, firewalls, access points.
  • Experience troubleshooting, managing and supporting Cisco/Dell network devices
  • Experience troubleshooting, managing and supporting MS Windows servers
  • Experience with VMware Enterprise applications
  • Experience with end user support in a networked environment
  • Shares knowledge freely with all staff
  • Strong written communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to learn on the job
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively in high stress environments
