Chem-Aqua Manufacturing Technician I in Macon, Georgia

Essential Job Functions

  • Assemble pretreatment equipment such as water softeners, reverse osmosis systems, filters based on drawings, and instructions provided by the Engineers
  • Assemble chemical feed equipment for cooling towers, boilers, and wastewater treatment systems based on blue print drawings
  • Interconnect pretreatment and chemical feed systems using SCH 80 PVC, galvanized, and stainless-steel pipes
  • Wire micro-processer-based controllers, and custom panels using basic wiring techniques
  • Program micro-processer-based pretreatment, and chemical feed equipment
  • Test assembled systems for quality prior to shipment
  • Break down assembled equipment, and package for shipment
  • Complete special projects set forth by Engineering Manager, and/or Manufacturing Supervisor

Qualifications and Capabilities:

  • Ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing assembly environment
  • Must have experience fitting PVC, and Steel Pipe
  • Proficiency with power, and hands tools
  • Ability to read/use measuring tape
  • Ability to read/understand mechanical working drawings (blue prints)
  • Operate a forklift
  • Must have knowledge of basic electrical circuits
  • Knowledge of how to operate a pipe threader a plus (not required)
  • Knowledge of how to operate a multi-feeder a plus (not required)

Physical:

  • Must have physical strength, and ability to lift and carry 40 pounds of weight for 100 feet
  • Must have ability for close-up observations, and use of analytical, and control equipment
  • Must have good depth perception, and ability to distinguish different colors
  • Must have hearing sufficient to hear verbal, and audible signals at a moderate distance
  • Must be conditioned to sustain work in a manufacturing environment that ranges in temperature

Other:

  • Must have a valid state issued ID/Driver's License
  • Must possess ability to read/understand technical manuals, mechanical, and electrical drawings, codes, and other technical materials
  • Must have writing ability sufficient for correspondence, and instructions
  • Must have good communication skills to interact with fellow co-workers, management, and the general public
