Production Supervisor Summary: The Production Supervisors leads an assigned production team in a high volume, fast paced plastic injection molding plant environment. The Supervisor is responsible for all facets of the shift operations and is accountable for all factors related to the functioning of the shift team. These functions include use of scheduling and production activity control methods, optimization of human resource development through work assignments, enforcement of process control procedures, compliance to safety/quality requirements, and interaction/coordination of activities with other departments/shifts as required. Job Responsibilities: * Enforce t safety guidelines and company standards for all production personnel and visitors. * Continually drive quality through vigorous emphasis on, but not limited to, following manufacturing procedures, lean activities, training, identifying & solving opportunities. * Daily review of quality, efficiency and identify issues and lead the support team in making improvements. * Conducts or participates in production, process of product safety/quality investigations and resolutions. * Monitors production, coordinates team workload and directs personnel to execute the daily schedule and that exceeds production standards and goals. * Completes all required production process paperwork and maintains applicable databases. * Identify opportunities to improve processes, minimize scrap, or otherwise reduce manufacturing costs. * Conducts or participates in production, process or product abnormality investigation and resolution. * Make effective operational decisions in an expedient manner while maintaining safety and quality standards. * Mentor, encourage and motivate team members, ensuring individual and group productivity. * Train and/or coordinate the training/re-training of associates to meet operational standards. * Manage personnel to ensure adherence with established standard work instructions and procedures. * Maintain vacation schedules, approves timeclock entries, and counsels employees in conjunction with human resources, when applicable. * Document performance and completes performance evaluations on time of the team. * Set expectations and drives accountability while serving an excellent example to others. * Performs additional duties as assigned. Requirements and Skills: * High School Diploma or GED * Five (5) years plastic injection industry experience preferred. * 3 or more years' supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment required. * Communication, time management and interpersonal skills. * Proven organizational and leadership abilities. * Work a 12 hour staggered schedule, with every other weekend off. * Problem-solving skills and detail oriented. * Self-motivated with a results-driven approach. * Advanced skills in MS Office. * Ability to take initiative, to maintain confidentiality, and meet or exceed deadlines. * Physical Requirements: * Ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 25 pounds frequently, +25 pounds occasionally and ability to be actively moving for the majority of any shift. * Use of Personal protective equipment on the production floor (PPE) * Physical requirements include but not limited to standing, climbing, walking, lifting, carrying, pulling, pushing, stooping, crouching, color determination and grasping.
