The Assistant Controller is responsible formanaging the following functional areas: General Accounting, Financial Reporting, and Fixed Assets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and develop a cohesive team in a rapidly changing environment to achieve company, department and individual goals.

  2. Responsible for the proper recording and reporting of all financial activities as to the proper amount, account and period in accordance with generally accepted accounting practices. Ensure account reconciliations are completed timely and accurately.

  3. Partner with company leaders to identify, implement, and communicate cost containment opportunities and complete budget vs. actual analysis.

  4. Prepare and review monthly financial reports for internal and external users, including for Board Meetings and review.

  5. Complete analysis to support the annual audit process with external auditors.

  6. Ensure that the company’s internal controls are appropriately designed and functioning.

  7. Provide financial information and insight to various business functions on a wide variety of specialty projects.

  8. Research various accounting issues and determine impact on financial statements.

  9. Manage and conduct various financial analyses on all aspects of the business.

  10. Identify execution gaps in current business processes and recommend and implements strategies for improvement.

  11. Enhance and update all financial process related documentation.

  12. All other duties as required.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a Major in Accounting or Finance.

  • CPA required

  • Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in accounting management roles.

  • Minimum of 4 years of supervising and leading a team.

  • Proficient in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word, Access & PowerPoint] or similar suite

  • Experience with financial reporting software

  • Extensive experience in the application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

  • Experience in any or all of the following areas: general accounting, expense payables, financial reporting, corporate performance analysis, capital budgeting and fixed assets, taxes, lease accounting, payroll and benefits.
