The Simcenter Engineering Services Center of Excellence located in Europe (Lyon / Leuven / Turin / Brasov / Munich) is specialized in physical modeling, testing and control of complex systems to leverage the adoption of the Simcenter Software portfolio in all Siemens selected accounts. Our customers belong to all kind of industries such as automotive, aeronautics, off-highway, or manufacturing industry.

The aim is to become Subject Matter Expert in charge of shaping and renewing a specific or a set of technical solutions in alignment with Software developers and R&D teams. This involves promoting the implemented innovations in coordination with the Siemens sales force world-wide.

Engineering Services projects address an international community; this gives interested engineers the possibility to experiment an international working environment. They become part of a transversal Center of Excellence (CoE) team supporting local regional teams and customers going from APAC (Japan, China, India, Korea …) to Americas and all European countries.

Key responsibilities

We look to expand the cross-portfolio innovation team with a Project Engineer focusing on system simulation and machine learning technologies for the realization of Digital Twins and eXecutable Digital Twins.

The cross-portfolio innovation team mission is to shape new/advanced methodologies combining simulation (system simulation, 3D CAE, 3D CFD), test (advance instrumentation, mechatronics and NVH testing) and machine learning . They aim to develop Digital Twins and eXecutable Digital Twins to support our customers in solving their challenges along the full product life cycle. This includes concept design up, verification and validation, smart manufacturing and in service asset monitoring, predictive maintenance, and control.

You will technically lead the projects in context of multi-physics systems modelling, real time applications, and implementation of engineering workflows potentially involving edge/cloud computing to enable the connection between virtual and real world.

Projects can take from a couple of weeks to several years where those are usually split in work packages performed within a larger team with sub-responsibilities.

Execution teams are composed based on the project requirements at hand; as such one gets different challenges in every new project as well as the chance to work with different colleagues, facilitating a fast development of technical and soft skills.

Qualifications

  • MSc (or PhD – not Bc) in engineering (preferred thermodynamics, mechatronics, controls)

  • Experience in system simulation CAE 1D (preferred Simcenter Amesim)

  • Programming and scripting knowledge in Python and/or Matlab

  • Good practical analytical skills and interpersonal skills

Nice to have

  • Experience in ML algorithm implementation (data mining, ROMs, LLMs, RL) – strong plus

  • Exp. with edge/cloud computing

  • Exp. with testing and CAE 3D simulation
