BWXT’s Nuclear Operations Group - Lynchburg is currently seeking a Process Engineer for its Lynchburg, VA location!

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Supports production operations as the technical lead and subject matter expert for the assigned area of responsibility.

  • Coordinates job order information for production/development activities.

  • Provides oversight of equipment installation projects.

  • Writes and updates operational procedures.

  • Develops and implements PLC programs in support of area operations.

  • Participates in debug issues and troubleshooting of problems arising in existing equipment.

  • Accesses functionality of electrical and control systems.

  • Performs drafting changes to existing drawings and creates new drawings.

  • Develops functional specifications and follows the BWXT established change management and safety evaluation processes.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required. Internal candidates with a Physics Degree who are already on the Engineering Ladder are also eligible.

  • Must possess at least two (2) years of engineering experience.

  • Must have demonstrable skills and knowledge of CAD software, preferably Solid Edge, or possess a willingness to learn the software.

  • Must be able to demonstrate superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Must be highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.

  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

  • Must demonstrate excellent experience leading multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Must be a US Citizen with no dual citizenship.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.

    Required Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in programming logic controllers is preferred.

    The base salary range for this position in [[stateProvince]] at the start of employment is expected to be between $[[custsalaryMin]] and $[[custsalaryMax]] per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
