Horizon Behavioral Health Administrative Support Team Leader in Lynchburg, Virginia

Position Summary

The Administrative Support Team Leader is responsible for the oversight of a team of Administrative Support Assistants in multiple behavioral healthcare locations. Thee Team Leader provides support to the Administrative Support Manager with overseeing daily front office operations for assigned locations. Acting in a team leader capacity, the Team Leader is responsible for leading the activities that occur regarding meeting client and provider demands and point-of-service client interactions.

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma / GED
  • Three years of relevant experience in a medical office environment, or an Associate's degree in Healthcare Administration or related degree with two years relevant experience in a medical office environment. Must have at least one year working in a team lead role in a medical office environment. An equivalent combination of relevant education and experience will be considered.

Related Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong knowledge of medical office and point-of-service/patient access processes. Knowledge of behavioral healthcare treatment settings preferred; Knowledge of behavioral healthcare terminology; Knowledge of revenue cycle; Ability to interact with clients and resolve problems. Knowledge of coaching approaches, tools, and techniques to improve individual performance and foster development; Ability to lead staff in a fast-paced and unpredictable work environment; Ability to promote positive, collaborative, and professional working relations among employees and co-workers; Excellent team-building skills; Proficient with an electronic health record; Knowledge of HIPAA. Willing and able to work modified schedules (weekends, holidays, etc.) as required; Ability to drive and must possess a valid driver's license. May be required to travel to different Horizon work sites during tyhe day based on operational needs or to provide administrative support at other locations. Regular attendance at training and Horizon meetings may require travel to a variety of Horizon sites.
