ZI Engineering PC Mechanical Engineer in Lynbrook, New York

ZI Engineering, PC seeks a Mechanical Engineer in Lynbrook, NY. Job duties include: Inspect building mechanical systems including air conditioning, heating, ventilation, and plumbing systems. Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation for manufacturing and assembly. Design modifications for existing mechanical systems to improve system efficiency. Review construction documents including drawings, submittals, and Request for Information (RFI) responses. Develop prototypes and perform validation testing.Candidates must have at least a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and at least two years of experience working in mechanical engineering within the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) industry. Must have at least 18 months of experience preparing 3D models of mechanical systems using computer-aided design (CAD) software. Must have at least two years of experience designing high-performing commercial air conditioning systems. Must have at least two years of experience inspecting ductwork, piping, and equipment installations. Must have at least two years of experience preparing bills of materials (BOMs) and estimating costs for projects. Must be proficient in Ansys Mechanical, AutoCAD, MATLAB, SolidWorks, and Star CCM+.
