The Crouse Hinds (Global Energy Infrastructure Solutions) division is part of Eaton’s electrical sector and has over 125 years of experience in protecting people, processes and assets in the most challenging environments. Our strategic focus is on driving growth, leveraging innovation and building capability across our global network towards diverse customer base - end-users, EPCs, integrators, OEMs and distributors. Luton plant is the highest turnover site in Europe and second highest across EMEAI with a unique attractive cultural diversified plant with 16 different nationalities working. We currently have an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Hardware Engineer to join our growing team.

What you’ll do:

Responsibilities:

  • Designing and developing new products

  • Continuous improvement- refining and defining procedures and processes

  • Capturing, specifying and managing design requirements. Undertake and/or supervise verification and validation of new product designs

  • Apply expertise to the design of electronics products, advancing the capabilities of the department.

  • Ensuring that Design to Cost, Design for Manufacture and Design for Test best practices are followed.

  • Participation in the definition of product roadmaps

  • Maintaining an awareness of current industry trends and maintaining relationships with suppliers to make best use of emerging technologies

  • Support concept/bids phase evaluation of projects with respect to task identification/estimation

  • Provide technical support to Sales, Marketing, Operations and external customers when more in depth product knowledge is required

Qualifications:

  • Relevant Engineering Degree such as Electronics

  • High and low volume product development

  • A mix of experience of both analog and digital electronic development for regulated markets requiring standards adherence and certification would be beneficial

Skills:

  • Capable of independent working

  • Six-Sigma background would be a plus

  • Ability to write clear and unambiguous process and product documentation
