Town of Lunenburg * LIFEGUARD in Lunenburg, Massachusetts

The Town of Lunenburg seeks qualified applicants for the position of Seasonal Lifeguard for the Lunenburg Town Beach. This position oversees and maintains the safe operation and use of the Town beach, under the direction of the Beach Director. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assuring the waterfront is cleaned upon arrival and when leaving; serving as lifeguard, water safety instructor, or beach attendant, as needed; enforcing all rules and regulations; acts in emergency situations and provides rescue and first aid assistance; maintaining good public relations; participates in staff orientations, trainings, conditioning, and administrative record keeping; other duties as required or assigned. Must be at least 16 years of age. Must possess valid American Red Cross Life Guard Certification, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, Water Safety Instructor Certification, and any other as required by law. Thorough working knowledge of first aid, CPR and water rescue. Ability to perform difficult lifesaving duties. Excellent customer service skills. This is a Grade 4 Salary Administration Plan, variable hour work week, non-benefited position; salary range \$16.50 - \$20.31/hour.
