Catholic Health Initiatives Manager Sterile Processing in Lufkin, Texas

Overview

St. Luke’s Health-Memorial paves the way for quality innovative health care in East Texas and provides more than a quarter of a million patient services each year. With hospitals in Lufkin Livingston and San Augustine St. Luke’s Health-Memorial provides millions of dollars in charity care and community support each year.

The Manager of Sterile Processing is responsible for the processing and handling of all sterile surgical instrumentation used in Operating Rooms, Cath Lab, Labor and Delivery, and any patient care area. Provide oversight for robotic center of excellence, by providing functional direction to members of the project team.

This Manager will oversee our Memorial Lufkin and Livingston locations.

* We will be looking for this individual to have a Minimum of (1) year of experience in a lead or manager role and (3+) years of experience in SPD.

  • Surgical Instrumentation: Ensure proper care and handling, decontamination, assembly, packaging, and sterilization of surgical instrumentation for Operating Rooms, Cath Lab, Labor and Delivery, and all invasive, diagnostic, and treatment areas. Ensure proper and safe functioning of hospital sterilization equipment. Ensure compliance with Regulatory Agency guidelines (JCAHO, CDC, FDA, AORN, EPA, etc.). Develop and revise process practices and monitor service standards of care for surgical instrumentation. Utilize research to promote and advance sterilization practice.

  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management stakeholders

  • Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.

  • Track project milestones and deliverables

  • Identify expected outcomes for robotic center of excellence.

  • Demonstrate effective communication and collaboration skills with members of the robotic team and other stakeholders.

  • Serve as a member of a multidisciplinary team in planning robotic patient care.

  • Collect and analyze data applicable to robotic surgical services to facilitate collaboration and negotiation with stakeholders.

  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, required documentation and presentations.

  • Human Resources Management: Departmental staffing. Daily HR issues. Develop and maintain staff performance service levels. Actively involved in recruitment and retention. Executive corrective action. Hire/Fire. Staff Development.

Qualifications

Minimum Required Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in health care related field

Minimum Required Licensure/Certification:

  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST),

  • Certified Healthcare Leader (CHL),

BLS issued by AHA

Pay Range

$29.02 - $42.08 /hour
