Position Description:

Assistant in the planning and development of various daily business functions for various departments within the athletic organization. Ensure the athletic organization maintains a favorable public and stakeholder perception while fulfilling the organization's strategic mission.

Major/Essential Functions:

  • Oversee and coordinate daily activity in all grounds areas within athletics in consultation with the superintendent.

  • Oversee and manage full-time and temporary staff on a daily basis in consultation with the superintendent

  • Serve as top assistant to the superintendent in all roles and will assume a leadership role in the absence of the superintendent.

  • Assist in the ordering, procurement, pick-up, and/or delivery of all grounds-associated purchases.

  • Support all outdoor athletic competitions prior to, during, and following events.

  • Observe areas maintained and report all problems and/or hazards to the superintendent.

  • Provide general field maintenance support for tennis/softball, baseball, track, soccer, and football facilities as needed.

  • Based on the sports season, the ability to work mandatory overtime, including nights and weekends.

  • Must have a valid driver's license and two-year driving record acceptable to the university.

  • Comply with all NCAA, Big 12, and Texas Tech University rules, regulations, and policies.

  • Other duties as assigned.
