Document Support Specialist

KBR is providing Project Management Services encompassing Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning phase execution supporting KBR’s client Sonangol’s multi-billion-dollar grass roots Lobito Refinery Project in Angola Africa.

KBR is looking for a Document Support Specialist to participate and lead individuals engaged in the performance of activities associated with document management work on a project. This role will implement established document management procedures, perform all document management functions required to process documents, including those documents from contractors, certification authorities, and independent verification bodies. The Document Support Specialist will issue/transmit project related documents, update and maintain project document management systems, learn to recognize, and report process improvement opportunities.

This position will mobilize to Angola

Responsibilities:

  • Provide effective communication between the project team and clients and third parties as needed

  • Offer feedback to supervisor on best practices and lessons learned with the ability to mentor and supervise less experienced colleagues

  • Verify work meets required HSE and QA standards

  • Ensure implementation and compliance with Project Policies and Processes

  • Document Management activities and deliverables in accordance with agreed schedules, milestones, and cost, focused on aiding project goals and objectives

  • Update and maintain project document management systems

  • Assist in developing scope of work in conjunction with project personnel

  • Prepare reports as required

  • Distribution Management

  • Communicate/liaison with Project Management & Team, Client, and Sub-Contractors effectively and resolve problems & issues relating to documentation

  • Contribute to the development and training of document management personnel

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • 3 + years of experience in a document support role or similar in the oil & gas industry

  • Proficiency with EDMS systems (IPMS – advantage) & Electronic Document Imaging Technology (Documentum- advantage) and computer technology

  • Experience with Information Management system and Philosophies an advantage

  • Knowledge of oil industry documentation

  • Awareness of Regulatory Authorities requirements

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to work under minimal supervision
