Grundfos Associate Proposal Engineer in Lower Dublin 12, Ireland

GRUNDFOS UK are looking for a PROPOSAL ENGINEER to join the Commercial Building Services (CBS) project team, based in our UK HQ in Leighton Buzzard or our sales office in Dublin, Ireland.

When you join Grundfos, you will become part of our CBS division, more specifically inside the Project team. This team is an integral part of our 2025 strategy of becoming a solution provider within prioritized applications by spearheading the development of Project business. As part of this team, you would be supporting inside 3 stages of our sales: offer, negotiation and order fulfillment.

Overall, we have our eyes set on the 2025 Grundfos goals of ensuring water access for more people around the world, safeguarding our precious water resources and making a positive, lasting impact on global climate challenges.

What does this role look like?

The main purpose of the role is to be responsible for complex bid handling within project Sales for our CBS division, ensuring there is smooth handover of won bids to the project delivery team. You will have responsibility to manage, coordinate, and administer the proposal effort on selected project proposals from the Bid/No Bid approval cycle through to submittal of the Bid to the Client. This will include negotiations, jointly with the appropriate Manager.

PROCESS

  • Ensure a high level of awareness of proposals and execution processes, operating within external sales engineers and managers, and including the usage of the required document control system, and continuously support business improvements.

  • In collaboration with local sales teams, supply chain, application specialists and product managers, management, develop and execute strategies, tools and processes associated with the project sales opportunities and proposals and continuously support development of project delivery activities in the local sales organization.

PROPOSAL

  • Interpret and clarify with others on contractual, commercial, legal and technical terms and conditions and required deliverables to comply with the client tender requirements taking direct responsibility in coordinating and executing the work to achieve a compliant Proposal.

  • Manage, review and negotiate procurement strategies with relevant sub-suppliers and sub-contractors with supply agreements, securing alignment of service levels, and still ensuring a quality offering while managing risk

  • Understand contract conditions, Grundfos policies associated with contractual terms and manage the risk accordingly

  • Develop project cost build up by consulting with internal and external supply chain to ensure robust and competitive pricing thus meeting our proposed service levels on price, quality and scope.

  • Engage with the customer in the commercial close out of the opportunity to ensure all technical and commercial aspects of the project are addressed.

  • Review Proposal Summaries and contribute to the presentation of the Proposal for internal review

SOLUTION

  • Develop technical solutions in collaboration with Grundfos product and application experts and 3rd parties by understanding the products and services sold, their application, and systems.

  • Package projects with Grundfos and non-Grundfos products to offer added value to the customer with an awareness to capture contract variations and therefore maximizing opportunities for margin

IMAGE

  • Understand Customers requirements either communicated via phone, e mail or other media handling customer issues if and when these arise.

  • Be a knowledge transfer partner to internal teams in order to ensure knowledge build up in project business in the end-to-end value chain.

What do you need to apply?

  • BSc/BA in engineering, construction science, or relevant discipline OR relevant years of experience

  • Proven subject matter expert as Project estimator or similar position, offering solutions for commercia processes

  • P&L knowledge, specifically opportunity and quotation management with a strong technical background and experience within commercial business processes

  • Great communication skills, negotiation abilities and excellent organizational skills.

  • Subject matter business and technical experience, with a strong talent for enabling productive communication between groups.

  • Proficient with Microsoft office.

  • Experience of SAP would be advantageous

  • Subject matter expertise with project management tools, i.e. Prince and SAP PS.

  • Willing to work in an international environment

  • Project management experience would be an advantage
