Job Overview

This role focuses on providing medical and clinical support services to patients. Responsible for medical services involving the excision or incision of a patient's body, such as interventional pain management and other procedures. This position also works to provide a safe environment for patients undergoing invasive procedures or surgery.

Location: Lowell General Hospital - Lowell, MA

Hours: Flexible 24 to 40 Hour Shifts Available - Days, Evenings, Weekends, On-Call

Minimum Qualifications

Certified Surgical Technologist

Associates degree or Completion of Surgical Technician Certification Coursework required

1-2 years’ experience working as a Surgical Technician (preferred)

LPN with Surgical Technician Certification/Experience

Duties and Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities listed below are intended to describe the general nature of work and are not intended to be an all-inclusive list. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

  1. Works in a professional manner on a wide variety of surgical procedures

  2. Selects and prepares the appropriate supplies and equipment for the surgical cases

  3. Participates in surgery by organizing the instrumentation for the surgeon, participating in surgical counts, and performs related activities under the directions of the surgeon

  4. Assist the circulator, with positioning obtaining needed items during surgery, and assisting in room turnover activities

  5. Participate in operating room activities related to quality improvement, continuing education, orientation of new personnel and emergency preparedness
