Description

Robert Half is looking for a Staff Accountant for a permanent opportunity with a dynamic company with a wonderful culture! As a Staff Accountant, you will be in charge of preparing journal entries, reconciliations and accounts receivables. Throughout the monthly close, you will be responsible for various accounting duties. Lend your skills towards developing and implementing accounting policies. Also, you will participate in month end close and review schedules for the reporting processes. This Louisville, Kentucky area-based position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work.

Your responsibilities

  • Reconcile and submit daily cash report from bank

  • Apply ACH, wire, and check deposit transactions to customer accounts

  • Update cash dashboard to reflect company’s cash position

  • Research cleared checks for payment verification and place stop payments on checks

  • Bill customers for WARE boiler service on quoted and time & material jobs

  • Create pre-invoices and credit memos for customers

  • Invoice corrections/revisions as requested by Customers, Sales Team, or Service Team

  • Enter invoices into accounts payable online portals

  • Issue sales tax credits

  • Perform monthly analysis of budget vs. actual spend, explaining variances and completing reclass journal entries

  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly journal entries as assigned

  • Setup new Accounts Receivable customer accounts

  • Collect balances on outstanding invoices

  • Upload sales tax customer exemptions and manage expired exemptions

  • Contact customers regarding purchase order issues

  • Contact banks for ACH information

    Requirements

  • Exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Spreadsheet and database capabilities

  • Recent and relevant accounting experience

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent

  • Self-starter and strong ethical standards

  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance

  • Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

  • Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks

  • Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines

  • Familiarity with variance analysis

  • Accounts Receivable (AR) experience

  • Expertise in journal entries

  • ERP system experience

  • Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
