The Pharmacy Licensing Manager will adhere to jurisdiction regulations regarding the initial application for and the renewal of licenses to operate all of the PharMerica pharmacies. The Pharmacy Licensing Manager will also support internal and external audits as needed.
- Review jurisdictions rules, regulations, and business practices in order to complete the licensing requirements for the different pharmacies
- Process, accurately complete, and timely submit initial applications or renewals of pharmacy (resident and nonresident) DEA, State controlled substance application, sterile compounding application, POAs and CSOS, NPI, NCPDP, changes to pharmacy information and other licenses required for the operation of the business
- Contacts Pharmacy Boards and other licensing agency personnel to address compliance issues or to clarify licensing requirements. Escalates complex or unresolved issues
- Researches the requirements for new locations and complete all applications for the operation of the business
- Reviews the renewal calendar to determine the filings of applications and disbursements are done timely and accurately
- Complete Medicare Part B and Mass Immunizer applications
- Process revalidations, changes of information and reactivations as well as any PIC changes
- Updates / maintains License Automation System
- Participates in Integration meetings. Provides proactive guidance on potential acquisitions regarding necessary licensing or change of ownership requirements
- Licensing will work with various business units and other corporate departments to understand specific business requirements. Collaborate with Service Provider to ensure the requirements are met
- Assist other License Specialists (as applicable) with the completion of initial applications or the renewal of applications as needed
- PBM Licensing
- Interface with licensing jurisdictions to obtain licensing requirements and ensure compliance with applicable regulations
- Reach out for clarification on jurisdiction requirements that may be unclear
- Analyze proposed new business strategy to recommend necessary licensing and permits and time frames in order to move the initiative forward
- Exercises independent judgment in carrying out the details of the work according to applicable regulations, company policies and procedures.
- Extensive knowledge of current industry trends, standards, and practices with strong business acumen.
- Ability to effectively and professionally communicate (verbal and written) with all levels of personnel internal and external to the company.
- Strong personal computer skills, including spreadsheet and database usage, Excel and MS Office tools.
- Strong analytical and problem resolution skills with high attention to detail, organization, timeliness, and accuracy
- Strong multi-tasking ability
