We are looking for an associate level Mechanical Engineer (ME) to build their skills within our team, supporting production of the US Navy s major and medium caliber gun weapon systems. This is an exciting and dynamic job where you ll not only work on important projects, but help advance the US Navy s global dominance of the seas.

You will be supporting the Combat Mission Systems (CMS) Business at our Louisville, KY facility. This position will report onsite on a 9/80 schedule (every other Friday off).

As a Mechanical Engineer with BAE Systems you will:

  • Work with production personnel helping them troubleshoot and test Naval Weapons Systems

  • Aid in drawing interpretations

  • Investigate changes and process updates and revisions to drawings

  • Perform basic engineering design, analysis, experimentation, test and/or product assurance tasks of limited complexity for assigned portions of a project, ensuring tasks meet cost, quality, schedule, and performance requirements.

  • Provide engineering support to disposition nonconforming material.

  • Provide engineering support to other departments (procurement, manufacturing, configuration management, etc.)

  • Develop and write technical documentation, make revisions to existing documentation, and provide input to technical papers or presentations.

  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with customers to solve technical problems and implement solutions of limited complexity.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or similar engineering degree

Minimum of 2 years work experience in a production support environment

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of a relevant technical field of specialization.

  • Familiarity with current computer applications and technologies in applicable engineering disciplines.

  • Ability to solve technical design and development problems.

  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with customers to solve technical problems.

  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)

  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings that contain GD&T.

  • The ability to effectively and efficiently troubleshoot mechanical problems.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Familiarity with relevant military and commercial design standards.

  • Experience with 3D CAD systems, specifically CREO Parametric.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $68700 - $116800

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
