The Assistant Manager will be responsible for managing, directing, and evaluating the work of a team of assigned engineers. This position will also be accountable for overseeing the application, evaluation, development, project management, commissioning, and system management of manufacturing industrial automation and control systems of the direct reports. The ideal candidate is experienced in Lean Manufacturing and is proactive in taking action in leading quality improvement and will have demonstrated success in making lasting improvements. Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for production processes.

  • Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Oversee the identification, justification, and implementation of capital equipment projects.

  • Oversee implementation of new processes, procedures, and work standards.

  • Ensure APQP process are complete by team members for production changes.

  • Support the plant quality and implement engineering controls by mistake proofing new and existing production processes.

  • Actively participate in Six Sigma projects as a belt and team member.

  • Reviews engineering designs for assembly fixtures to ensure critical dimensions are maintained and recommends changes, as necessary.

  • Act in a professional manner with external and internal customers. Demonstrate professional communication (verbal and communication) and interpersonal skills.

  • Candidate should have the flexibility to work off shift and weekends as needed.

  • Manage performance of Assigned team members.

  • Prepare engineering activity status reports.

Dynacraft has production facilities in Louisville, KY, and McKinney, TX.

Qualifications

  • Qualified applicants will be detailed oriented, well organized and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • ERP experience, preferably in SAP.

  • Applicants must be able to prioritize, successfully work in a production environment, and work or make decisions independently when required.

  • Successful candidate is safety-conscious, self-motivated, and a team player.

  • Experience coordinating with and directing large process improvement projects.

  • Prior Supervisory experience is preferred.

  • Experience coordinating capital projects.

  • Familiar with or trained in Six Sigma.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably Industrial, Electrical or Mechanical.

  • MBA or Masters in Engineering preferred.

  • Five years of manufacturing experience, preferably automotive.

  • Applicant should have excellent PC skills; including Word, Excel, AutoCAD. ProE, and Cam software experience would be a plus.
