WestRock Company Maintenance Technician in Louisville, Kentucky

Career Opportunity: Responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining all industrial processing equipment and production machinery. Responsible for repairing and maintaining rolling stock and facilities. Maintains a safe and clean work environment for all employees and customers complying with organizational and OSHA safety standards, procedures and regulations.

How you will impact WestRock:

  • Compliance with WestRock safety rules.

  • Knowledge of and compliance with OSHA regulations.

  • Perform preventative maintenance according to company PM system and manufacturer’s specifications.

  • Troubleshoot and maintain motors, conveyors, electrical systems (if qualified), pneumatic tools and hydraulic equipment.

  • Identify faulty equipment through observation and testing metrics.

  • Repair and maintain rolling stock and facilities.

  • Source replacement parts and perform repairs.

  • Maintain parts and tool inventory.

  • Safely operate rolling stock, power tools and hand tools.

  • Attend daily shift meeting to prioritize and daily tasks and minimize down time.

  • Actively participate in plant safety program and Safety Committee.

  • Maintain a safe a clean work area at all times.

  • Perform other job duties as needed.

  • Make safety a priority at all times.

  • Minimum of 40 hours per week is required for this position and is subject to change to longer hours due to project or task that is scheduled.

What you need to succeed:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D preferred.

  • Minimum of 3 years industrial maintenance or heavy equipment experience.

  • Capable of operating hand, power and specialty tools.

  • Advanced understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanics.

  • Basic understanding of electrical system.

  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills.

  • Team player and willing to work with minimal supervision.

  • Must pass a background check and drug screen.

  • Alert, focused and detail oriented.

  • Must be able to perform and train with hot work such as welding, cutting, brazing, and grinding.

  • Physically and mentally fit.

  • Must have ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating procedures and equipment manuals.

  • Must have the ability to operate various pieces of rolling stock.

  • Must be willing to work overtime as needed.

  • Must be able to maintain good attendance.

  • Must be able to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
