Loader Operator - Asphalt Division

Summary/Objective

The loader operator performs tasks involving physical labor at the asphalt plant. The position may operate a variety of hand and power tools and may clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, clean up rubble and debris, and remove waste materials. The position may assist other craft workers.

Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Performs a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor.

  • Operate heavy machinery including but not limited to a wheel loader and dozer.

  • Perform regular maintenance and repairs on the asphalt plants.

  • Must be physically healthy to stand, bend, and walk for up to 8-10 hours a day

  • Loads and unloads trucks and hauls and hoists materials.

  • Comply with the company’s drug and alcohol testing requirements

    Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. This position is preformed outside weather conditions

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Hours of work vary based on project needs. Overtime as required.

    Required Education and Experience

    Applicants must have at least 1-year heavy equipment and/or plant related experience. Must be at least 18 years of age. Applicants must hold a Regular Operator (Class D) driving license. Applicant must have no felonies that are violent in nature and/or theft related in the last 7 years. Applicant must have reliable transportation to and from job site. High School Diploma or GED preferred
