Abel Construction Construction Superintendent in Louisville, Kentucky

Oversee the construction, quality, and safety of projects under his/her supervision. Represent the company in a professional and courteous manner, while maintaining the high standards that ABEL Construction, Inc. represents.

Work Tasks:

  • Ensure work is completed per schedule and within the budget. Maintain necessary paper work and keep accurate records. Perform assigned work in accordance with OSHA, Customer and ABEL Safety Standards. Maintain all of the company’s tools and equipment in a secure manner.

  • Overall coordination with all subcontractors onsite and running weekly subcontractor meetings.

  • Daily communication and providing updates with the Project Manager and Owner Representative

  • Organizing and managing crews for self-performed tasks.

  • Maintain currency in First Aid and CPR training.

  • Complete and turn in to the office all required paperwork.

  • Counsel field employees in Abel Quality Policy awareness.

  • Attend bi-annual superintendent quality improvement team meetings.

Education and/or Training:

  • Knowledge of reading and understanding blueprints.

  • Job scheduling & allotted time.

  • Utilizing project management software for daily reports, safety reports, and reviewing project documents

  • Knowledge of construction tools and equipment.

  • Supervisor Quality Improvement Procedures.

  • Working knowledge of tools & equipment.

  • Manpower scheduling & allotment.

  • 5 years working in the construction industry.

  • OSHA “Ten” for the Construction Industry certification (to be completed in the first year of employment).

  • Current First Aid /CPR certification.
