About the role

Do you have great attention to detail, solid writing skills, and want to work on interesting legal issues in a fast-paced, collaborative, innovative environment? Netflix is seeking a motivated, highly organized, detail-oriented candidate with strong judgment and stellar communication skills to join our Law Enforcement Response Team.

The Law Enforcement Response Team sits within the Corporate Legal organization and is responsible for the law enforcement response program. As a legal operations coordinator, you will review legal inquiries, investigate and align with different teams to locate information, draft responses, and ensure we comply with relevant laws worldwide. The position is based in Los Gatos, reporting to the Legal Operations Manager, Law Enforcement Response. The team works in collaboration with the Privacy and Security counsels, the CS Investigations & Response Team, and many other cross-functional teams in carrying out their responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Triage, index, analyze, and accurately respond to a variety of legally and time-sensitive requests from law enforcement authorities;

  • Review data/productions in response to valid legal requests;

  • Organize, log, and maintain accurate internal documentation and metrics to support our law enforcement response program;

  • Provide high-quality support both verbally and in writing to law enforcement authorities.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Experience responding to privacy, data disclosure, and other legally sensitive inquiries is not required but is strongly preferred

  • Experience with operational workflow systems, project management, and familiarity with database queries is highly desirable

  • Ability to comfortably handle (interpret and understand court orders, subpoenas, and police requests from all jurisdictions in languages other than English - the ability to navigate ambiguity - law, regulations, language nuances

  • Superior organizational skills, extraordinary attention to detail, and a mindset that processes can constantly be improved;

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate and represent Netflix with law enforcement authorities;

  • Strong analytical and technical skills, with the ability to review data and identify trends;

  • Ability to maintain a positive, constructive attitude in ambiguous situations and to manage complexity and high pressure in a productive manner;

  • Self-starter and fast learner who can work independently while using impeccable judgment

  • Possess situational awareness to identify and escalate matters that require urgent attention

  • Proficiency in Excel and the Google suite of applications in a business environment (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, etc.)

  • Experience with operations (ticketing systems, macros, reports, volume)

  • Ability to work in an open, feedback-driven culture

  • Foreign language fluency is helpful but not required - extra points if you are fluent in Japanese, German, or Italian

Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $70,000 - $350,000.
