Google Technical Operations Manager, Cloud Region in Los Angeles, California

Minimum qualifications:

  • Trade school qualification and/or certification in a related field.

  • 9 years of experience in a HVAC, electrical, controls, water chemistry, generators, mechanical, or other similar technical domain.

  • 3 years of experience in a data center or facilities environment.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Management, or Reliability Engineering.

  • Experience communicating effectively with all levels of the organization, including senior executives.

  • Experience with Reliability Centered Maintenance and in engineering.

  • Ability to forecast resource requirements in a data-driven way.

As a Technical Operations Manager, you will be deeply involved in nearly every aspect of co-location operations for our electrical, cooling, and IT infrastructure. You will partner with the Google Data Center engineering teams, hardware operations, network infrastructure, and third-party data center vendors and operators with a focus on operability, maintainability, and reliability. In this role, you will represent the operations organization, and will be responsible to ensure operability, maintainability, and reliability are critical criteria for Google assets.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $125,000-$185,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Drive efforts to test, validate, improve, and certify new processes and procedures for critical complex equipment operation in your data center domain of expertise.

  • Lead efforts to perform compliance activities for a data center and analyze compliance results for data centers globally. Ensure regional and global teams are complying with project/schedule guidelines and Google design standards.

  • Drive efforts to monitor data center systems operations, control site activities to minimize risk, and to ensure effective response to any excursions.

  • Drive efforts to ensure sites are following facility, maintenance, and standard programs globally while exhibiting strength in improvement to said policies and programs.

  • Lead the development of strategies to keep operational costs to a minimum, improve efficiency, and reduce environmental impact at a site, along with driving site-level development of programs and initiatives.
