UCLA Health Staff Research Associate in Los Angeles, California

Description

Conduct research on the neural basis of learning, memory, and spatial navigation, aimed at developing new treatments for neurological and psychiatric disorders, including post-traumatic stress disorder and epilepsy. Provide coordination and project management for research projects in a neuromodulation and neuroimaging laboratory; perform pre-study interviews of participants and families, consent of participants, and explanation of study procedures; perform mobile scalp and intracranial EEG, electro-, and psychophysiological recordings on study participants; perform task presentation using virtual and augmented reality and motion capture systems. Manage and prepare Institutional Review Board (IRB), FDA, and other clinical trial documents for submission. Provide guidance to students and researchers in the laboratory. Present research results at meetings and conferences; prepare papers for publication in professional journals.

Salary Range:

$62,315.40 to $100,211.40/year

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in neuroscience, biotechnology, life sciences or a related field.

  • Three years of experience in job offered, or as a university researcher, life science research assistant or a related occupational title. Alternately, the employer will accept a Master's degree in neuroscience, biotechnology, life sciences or a related field and one year of experience.

  • Experience following research protocol; experience working with data management and organization of technical information; experience in routine maintenance of research equipment and supplies.
