Amergis Registered Nurse (RN) - Public Health Outreach MCA in Los Angeles, California
$50 - $55/hr
- The Divisions of Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Health (MCAH) Programs is seeking a Public Health Nurse (PHN) to be part of a pilot project that will focus providing pregnant and parenting people to offer reproductive and perinatal support. The goal of the home visiting program is to improve birth outcomes and support child development, successful school enrollment, improve circumstances and outcomes for parents and child/children and ultimately prevent situations that lead to child welfare involvement. The PHN will collaborate with a Community Health Worker/Peer Partner to successfully enroll, support, and retain families experiencing homelessness during pregnancy and/or early childbearing. MCAH is currently hiring Public Health Nurses that will cover both SPAs 2 & 6.
We're looking for someone to join our team who:
Can commit to the program for complete time of the project (1 year minimum)
Experience with people experiencing homelessness
Passionate about serving the high-risk pregnant mothers and their children
Willing to learn and able to travel to be trained when required
Ability to address mental health issues and refer clients when needed
Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office and digital technology
Strong organizational, communication and time management skills
Excellent ability and knowledge to work within a multidisciplinary team and with the community.
Preferred fluent in Spanish
