POSITION OVERVIEW

A growing client is looking for a dynamic Payroll Specialist to join their team! The role of the Payroll Specialist involves comprehensive responsibility for all weekly digital and manual payroll tasks. These primarily consist of payroll computations, examination of time logs, and paycheck issuance. Keeping all payroll records updated and generating reports on relevant matters is crucial. It also involves timely and accurate responses to all payroll-related inquiries. This position is a contract to hire opportunity fully onsite in Downtown Los Angeles.

PRIMARY DUTIES

The incumbent must ensure all daily/weekly tasks are accomplished and handled accordingly.

The role entails maintaining all employee data entries - such as new hires, rehires, alterations in status, tax forms, and direct deposits – across all payroll systems, including setups for retirements.

Preparation of necessary check requests, halt payments, re-issuing of checks, and supporting documents to ascertain timely payment to union locals, welfare schemes, retirement plans, and appropriate federal, state, and county agencies would also be part of the job role.

The individual would also be tasked with other duties or projects as assigned.

Demonstrate persistent commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives and values and exhibit constant commitment to anti-racist work culture.

The work environment continually evolves and employees are expected to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to changes in the duties scope.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates should have either three years of payroll experience or an Associates degree.

Familiarity with in-house payroll procedures is a must.

Strong customer service skills both verbally and through emails are required.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential.

Excellent attention to fine detail and capability to work with necessary deadlines is a must.
