Description

We are seeking an experienced Patient Registration Clerk for our renowned hospital in Los Angeles. The successful applicant will need to have previous experience using eClinical systems and be able to manage the front-desk operations proficiently in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.

Perform patient registration duties. Accurately collect, verify and enter patient demographic and insurance information into the eClinical system.

Schedule patient appointments using electronic systems, ensuring optimal use of staff and facilities.

Verify patient insurance information and coordinate authorizations if necessary.

Answer a high volume of calls and provide information, direction and support to a variety of inquiries.

Prepare charts and documents for medical staff and patient care and coordinate with medical professionals to ensure smooth patient flow and timely service.

Explain procedures and hospital policies to patients and families and answer any patient inquiries.

Maintain patient records; maintain strict confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Work with a team of professionals to deliver high-quality patient care and experience.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

  • Minimum 2 years of healthcare experience, preferably in registration, booking or patient services.

  • Knowledge and experience working with eClinical systems.

  • Strong attention to detail with an emphasis on accuracy and confidentiality.

  • Proven customer service skills and the ability to handle a myriad of patients' issues.

  • Strong computer skills and the ability to learn and utilize new technology quickly.

  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance practices.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays if needed.
