Job Description

The Cedars-Sinai Share & Care program provides services to at-risk children and adolescents, beginning in 1981 as the Psychological Trauma Center. Our professional counselors deliver services to students who are experiencing emotional and academic challenges due to traumatic situations and stressors. Share & Care provides a group structure to facilitate emotional nurturing, healthy self-esteem, and positive coping skills through a 12-week art therapy curriculum that can result in academic success.

What you will be doing in this role:

The Mental Health Associate provides mental health prevention, intervention and crisis intervention services within school settings and the community at large following a period of observation and training. Incumbents develop partnerships and deliver a full range of services consisting of assessment, group therapy, individual and family therapy when appropriate. Participates in team meetings and planning. They demonstrate motivation, creativity and serves as a motivator for effect change. They maintain proficiency/skills including the ability to deliver care to special populations with diverse cultural backgrounds. They can identify safety concerns and institute measures to deliver safe environment.

  • Conducts assessments of students, as a part of the triage process and for students admitted into the program.

  • Participates in the treatment planning process by attending treatment team meetings.

  • Demonstrates sound conceptualization of problems, strengths, goals and objectives; evidences follow through on implementation of approved plans, monitors students’ progress.

  • Conducts individual, family and group interventions.

  • Collaborates with internal and external sources in providing clinical treatment.

  • Coordinates care for patient and care delivery team as needed.

Qualifications

What we're looking for:

Master’s degree in social work or marriage family therapy required.

In process or currently have a Board of Behavioral Science Associate Designation

Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience with children and adults required.

Bilingual Spanish/English a plus.
