UCLA Health HIM/SER Application Manager (flex - hybrid) in Los Angeles, California

Description

The Application Manager (AM) reports to the Director and functions as the primary expert in support of the applications in their portfolio. Working in conjunction with the Director, the AM is ultimately responsible for:

  • the maintenance, configuration, optimization, and implementation of functionality within the applications

  • leading the team in attaining a high level of application knowledge, including identifying training needs for team members

  • partnering with subject matter experts (SME's) and other applications AMs to ensure build consistency and a successful end-to-end workflow that meets the needs of their operational users

  • working with application trainers to ensure training provided to end users is accurate and provides resources to ensure training materials are up-to-date

  • defining and improving department processes, documenting these processes, and educating staff

The AM should have a good understanding of:

  • all phases of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

  • relevant project management methodologies

  • test & change control procedures

Application Portfolio: Epic HIM applications including Release of Information, Deficiency Tracking, Identity Management, Confidentiality and Break-the-Glass, and Hospital Coding. Solventum (formally 3M) applications including 360 Encompass and CAC. Also responsible for the maintenance of the Epic SER (Provider) master file

This is a flex-hybrid role which will require you to be onsite at least 5% of the time, within 12 hours of being asked to come on site, or as required by operational need. Please note that there are no reimbursements for travel to "home office" location.

Each employee must complete a FlexWork Agreement with their manager which will outline arrangement parameters and aids both parties in fully understanding expectations. Arrangements are regularly evaluated, and are subject to termination.

Salary offers are determined based on various factors including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, and equity. The full salary range for this position is $ 105,200 -$ 250,600 annually . The budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is approximately between $170,000 - $200,000 annually.

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of experience with Epic HIM and/or Soventum (3M) HIM applications

  • Management or Team Lead experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in health care information technology, computer science, or related area, and/or equivalent combination of experience/training.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with information systems technology, which includes Windows Server management, Microsoft Office Suite, email, intranet, internet, and other systems.

  • Must possess strong technical experience and background working within an EMR; Epic preferred.

  • Experience leading large and complex projects.

  • Experience mentoring staff in both technical and business related matters, including providing regular feedback and completing performance reviews.

  • Demonstrated skill in system workflow and business process flow analysis and design.
