UCLA Health Emergency Medical Technician - Critical Care Transport - Westwood in Los Angeles, California

Description

The EMT is responsible for the safe and efficient ambulance transport of the UCLA Health System Patient. The EMT will provide BLS level transport and assist the Critical Care Transport teams with neonatal, pediatric and adult transport within the EMT scope of practice.

Salary: $23.60 - $27.10 HourlyQualifications

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: As part of the transport service, World class care starts with you. Team members must have the skill to work in a fast paced and changing environment with the widest possible variety of patients. Maintain current EMT certification with LA expanded scope of practice, and be on the National EMT Registry. A valid California Ambulance driver's certificate and a non-restricted California drivers license with clean driving record. 1 year of Ambulance attendant and driving experience required. A valid, current Medical Examiners certificate required. Must have excellent physical assessment skills, comprehension of medical terminology, reading and writing in standard English, and speaking clearly and concisely to convey information to patients, families and healthcare teams during the transport process.

Ability to perform and pass all physical work requirements of the UCLA Health physical agility test pertaining to transport of patients while using correct body mechanics which includes lifting, pushing and pulling. Required to operate transport medical equipment including, gurney, oxygen tanks, automatic defibrillator. Ability to accept new responsibilities and work collaboratively with team members is essential.
