Actalent Embedded Software Engineer in Los Angeles, California

Embedded Software EngineerJob Description

We are seeking an Embedded Software Engineer who is open to travel to LA (<25%) (to be able to test the hardware in the lab). The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of real-time embedded software philosophies and practices. You should be well-versed with Linux kernel internals, including process scheduler, memory management, concurrency/synchronization, memory allocation, file systems, and networking subsystems architecture. Strong debugging skills in kernel and user space, along with knowledge of user space API, are essential. The role involves developing embedded software in assembly, C/C++, Rust, or other languages and coding for microcontrollers, including hardware drivers. Familiarity with low-level communications such as PCIe, Ethernet, SPI, and I2C is desirable. You will review schematics, use logic analyzers, and employ embedded software troubleshooting techniques. General device software experience is a must, especially in software systems that run on devices at the middleware level.

Pay: $80/hr - $90/hr
