UCLA Health Clinical Laboratory Scientist, Immune Assessment Core in Los Angeles, California

Description

Join our dynamic team, where we're dedicated to advancing the field of immunogenetics, histocompatibility, and transplantation immunology. As a Clinical Laboratory Scientist, you will be responsible for a multitude of tests in relation to organ transplantation. Your primary duties include:

  • Conduct and document laboratory tests with precision and accuracy; tests include immunophenotyping assays and flow cytometry.

  • Perform quality control tasks meticulously, adhering to protocols set by manufacturers, department guidelines, ASHI, the State Department of Health, and other regulatory bodies.

  • Accurately enter and retrieve data using the Medical Center LIS and UIC LIS systems, ensuring consistency as reviewed by supervisors or senior staff.

  • Complete CAP survey samples and competency exams accurately and within designated time frames.

  • Utilize and maintain equipment according to manufacturer and laboratory standards.

Salary Range: $51.76 - $68.97/hour. Effective 7/8/24, salary range increases to $53.31/hour - $71.04/hour.

Qualifications

  • Current, valid California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) or Clinical Histocompatibility Scientist (CHS) license.

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • Ability to work outside of normal shift hours, including on-call and rotating weekends.

  • Background in molecular methods, reference ranges, test methodologies, instrument operation/maintenance as well as CAP and other regulatory requirements.

  • Knowledge of relevant disease states in order to communicate significance of test results.

  • Ability to perform testing, documentation, interpretation, and report preparation for ongoing R&D and method development projects.

  • Strong teamwork skills.
