Meta Associate General Counsel - Integrity in Los Angeles, California

Summary:

Meta is seeking a highly motivated and experienced attorney to join a growing team focused on technology and its impact in people's lives to serve as Associate General Counsel, Integrity. Meta Integrity teams are responsible for creating a safe, inclusive community and helping to ensure safe and trusted connections between people, businesses, and Meta. You will provide strategic legal counseling to internal product, engineering, policy, operations, and business teams in order to identify and mitigate global legal risk. You will also provide oversight as a central management function across Legal department teams for subject matter expertise on Integrity. Required Skills:

Associate General Counsel - Integrity Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and manage Meta’s response to content and other integrity legal obligations and risks both in the US and internationally, including devising strategy and coordinating cross-functional programs

  2. Function as a subject matter expert for the Legal Department on integrity matters, particularly with respect to user-generated content, to assess risk, and provide legal guidance

  3. Serve as a primary coordinating function for Legal on integrity matters, building consensus with stakeholders within the Legal Department and across the company, developing and maintaining strong relationships with our Legal and cross-functional partners in product, policy, and operations

  4. Support centralized governance for distributed Legal integrity subject matter experts, working cross functionally with legal teams such as regulatory, litigation, product, and compliance

  5. Drive strategy and high-impact, complex projects involving Meta’s approach to integrity, including managing and responding to legal obligations and risks globally, alongside policy, legal, communications, security, and other departments

  6. Partner and collaborate with product teams, global operations teams, regional teams, and other lawyers to develop strategic approaches to managing risk, particularly with respect to content and integrity

  7. Manage and lead critical escalations regarding Meta’s approach to integrity legal obligations and risks, efficiently and effectively driving toward company-level decisions

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one US state bar

  2. 8+ years of counseling experience, including some government, in-house, and/or law firm experience

  3. Experience advising on legal and/or regulatory issues that apply to social technology, online platforms, e-commerce, or other related Internet technologies

  1. Experience with CDA 230, the Digital Services Act, or similar international frameworks that apply to content

  2. Adept at delivering practical advice under pressure, prioritizing work, and driving complex projects to completion

  3. Problem-solving and organizational skills and experience managing multiple projects with diverse stakeholders

Public Compensation:

$198,000/year to $266,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
