UCLA Health Administrative Assistant II - Ophthalmology Call Center in Los Angeles, California

Description

Join our Westwood Ophthalmology Call Center team, where you will play a vital role in ensuring a seamless patient experience! We are looking for a positive, detail-oriented individual dedicated to providing excellent patient service. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Pre-registering new and returning patients via telephone

  • Collecting demographic and insurance information

  • Entering authorizations and referrals

  • Scheduling appointments

  • Maintaining logs and tracking all activities

  • Communicating with faculty and office staff via email, paging system, and verbal messages

Salary Range: $24.57-34.87Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum six months of experience working in an ophthalmology medical practice.

  • Working knowledge of ophthalmic medical terminology.

  • Familiarity with current billing practices including governmental plans such as Medicare and Medicaid.

  • Six months of experience scheduling patient appointments in electronic system.

  • Computer skills sufficient to communicate by email.

  • Verbal and written skills in English sufficient to communicate effectively with patients, doctors and staff.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with individuals of varied backgrounds effectively, with professionalism, patience and understanding.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a systematic manner to maximize efficiency.

  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism while dealing with the stressors of operating a multi-line telephone system.

  • Ability to work with frequent interruptions and to complete assignments in a timely manner.

Preferred:

  • One year of experience working in clinical teaching environment.

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
