Sutter Health Laboratory Services Representative-Los Altos Laboratory in Los Altos, California
Under general supervision of the Laboratory Supervisor and according to policies and procedures, performs general receptionist and clerical duties such as greeting patients, processing telephone requests, entering patient and specimen requisitions into the computer, operating office equipment.
Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Reception/Registration - Greets patient using PAMF CARES practice, releasing appropriate orders in Epic to Sunquest. Use Survey Monkey, assist with data collection, data entry, print labels, accepts and receives specimens for processing in a timely manner. Contact Clinical Staff for clarification of / or no orders.Central Processing - Receive, process, track and send specimens accurately and in a timely manner according to established policies and procedures.
Information Management - Manage and distribute patient results and handle external inquiries, add-ons and troubleshooting accurately in a timely manner according to established policies and procedures.
Inventory Management - Stocks work area with supplies as necessary in order to assure appropriate operating levels. Basic Send outs- Processes sample and prepare transport specimen paperwork to ensure proper transport temperature conditions and accurate patient, lab test an testing lab address information are maintained for routine sendouts.
REQUIRED: high school diploma or equivalent; current AHA BLS/CPR certificate; knowledge of laboratory procedures and medical terminology
PREFERRED: Associate degree; CPT I or II license
