System One QA/QC Level II Inspector (CWI) in Los Alamos, New Mexico

System One is looking for QA/QC inspectors for a 24 month (plus) contract at Los Alamos National Labs in Los Alamos, NM. Must have an AWS CWI.

Description:

Level 3 is considered a skilled journeyman-level position. Incumbent applies knowledge of the job, and Laboratory policies and principles to complete a wide range of tasks. Incumbent has complete understanding and wide application of technical principle, theories, and concepts in the field. Also has general knowledge of other related disciplines. Assignments are usually focused while working within established priorities, procedures, processes, requirements or specifications. Priorities and tasks are usually prescribed. Incumbent is expected to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with organization objectives. Impact of work is usually limited to a well-defined area. Incumbent performs normal aspects of job with little or no direct supervision. General instructions are given for new assignments. Work is occasionally reviewed for soundness of judgment, overall adequacy and accuracy. Some contributions for original work are expected.

Minimal requirement normally requires 3-5 years of extensive previous experience gained through training in specific field of technology.

Technical Institute graduation or AA degree may be preferred.

Submitted candidates need to be qualified and certified to an NQA-1, N45.2 LANL program by the subcontractor. These certifications will be maintained by the subcontractor throughout their employment and forwarded to IQPA-QSS-PE for validation to the LANL N45.2 inspection program requirements. The Level of qualification will need to be Level II in one discipline or a combination of 2 or more of the following Disciplines:

• Civil/Soils

• Structural

• Electrical

• I&C, Instrument and Controls

• Mechanical

• Coatings

• Welding (CWI)

• Visual Inspection - Examples include: Either VT-1 -Visual Welding, or VT-2 - Leak/Bubble Testing all areas.

• Other NDE Methods include: PT, MT, UT and RT

Minimum Base Qualification Requirements to meet the requirements of NQA-1:

Level II: One year of satisfactory performance as a Level I in the corresponding inspection and examination activity, or; high school graduate plus three years of related experience, or; completion of college level work leading to an Associate’s Degree in a related discipline plus one year of related experience, or; graduate of a four year accredited college or university plus six months of related experience
