POSITION SUMMARY Applies extensive technical and mechanical knowledge and experience to diagnose and resolve repair problems on DC power equipment assemblies and sub-assemblies down to the Printed Circuit Board component level. RESPONSIBILITIES * Interface with technicians and assemblers to achieve modifications of electronic assemblies that meet corporate and customer requirements * Interface with repair Customer Service Representatives and Management to maintain production, documentation, and quality standards on all repairs as required by customers and the corporation * Interface with other repair technicians to expand own job knowledge and assist in the training of other repair assemblers and technicians * Work with Component Engineers to identify obsolete components * Proficient ability to solder through-hole and SMT components * Daily computer input into business system, of all aspects of the repair process * Perform all work with safety in mind and ensure that all safety measures are met * Provide technical support to technicians and assemblers within the Repair group. Assist with filling in on daily problem solving as required in the Repair Manager's absence QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Job Qualifications: * Two-years of experience as a technician dealing with electronic component troubleshooting and repair down to the component level * Must be able to correctly analyze and interpret drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and specifications * Must be able to read, write, communicate and understand work instruction, Quality Procedures, Test Procedures and other documentation/procedures * Must be adept at utilization and operation of general electronic test equipment * Excellent organization skills to work in fast paced environment * Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and ability to utilize existing business systems EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS * High School Diploma or GED * Two-year Associates or Technical Degree in electronics or equivalent experience preferred PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS * Heavy Lifting (over 50 Ibs.) * Frequent Standing * Frequent kneeling / crawling / stooping * Frequent bending / twisting * Frequent climbing (stairs, ladders) ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS * Working around moving machinery (fork-lifts, tractors) * Protective Equipment Required (earplugs, gloves, eyewear, respirator, mask, etc.) TRAVEL TIME REQUIRED * None At Vertiv, we offer the stability of a global leader in a growing industry and the opportunity of a startup.
