Description MISSION STATEMENT: The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. Its message is based on the Bible. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Be responsible for the spiritual welfare of all camp staff and campers for each program. Attend and participate in evening programs and spiritual activities. Maintain a standard of cleanliness in personal grooming and in living quarters. Assist with the clean-up of campground areas at the end of each session and at the conclusion of the summer. Prepare and deliver the Christian Education Director camp brief at the end of the summer. Assist with evening cabin supervision. Any other duties as assigned by the Assistant Camp Administrator. SPECIFIC DUTIES: SAFETY AND SUPERVISON Enforce camp policies and procedures. Maintain the utmost level of safety for staff and campers. Ensure compliance with American Camping Association standards of safety and programmatic conduct. Coordinate and implement all program components relative to the daily schedule in a timely fashion. WEEKLY RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and implement daily chapels for campers of varying ages. These chapels will look similar for each program. Work with the Corps Officers and the Program Directors to develop and implement the weekly schedule of chapel services and campfires for camp programs. Work with the Corps Officers in planning the weekly worship times and camp chapels. Assist counselors in planning devotions for their campers. Assist with spiritual counseling by notifying him/her of any special needs. Assist the corps officers with coordinating the music for worship services. Assist in the planning and implementation of weekly staff devotions. Including a weekly late night staff devotion. Develop and implement a discipleship program for SEARCH to include meaningful devotions. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects and reach overhead. Ability to operate telephone. Ability to operate a desktop or laptop computer. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Ability to access and produce information from a computer. Ability to understand written information. Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
