Description

PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center, Anesthesia Group has a full-time, 0.8 FTE opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner in our new pre-op screening clinic, located in beautiful Longview, Washington. Consider joining the collegial and collaborative PeaceHealth team with 25 providers. St. John Medical Center is a 200-bed, Level III Trauma Center, and is the area’s sole community hospital, providing dozens of medical specialty services including emergency, trauma, heart, behavioral health, bone and joint, cancer, birthing, and women’s services. PeaceHealth’s mission is to further extend high-quality primary care offering to meet the needs of a more complex and elderly population in our communities. The community of Longview is perfectly nestled in between Portland and Seattle, providing quick access to the airport, big city amenities, National Parks, and the Pacific Ocean.

Ideal Candidate

  • Certified Nurse Practitioner with at least one year of post-certification experience in Family Medicine and/or Internal Medicine; background in surgery a plus

  • Interest in acting as a liaison between the hospital and clinics to ensure that patients progress through surgery optimally, ensuring best outcomes for patients and their families

  • Interest in educating patients about Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) as well as researching patient histories and following departmental protocols for preparing patient for surgery

  • Interest in working as an extension of the of the surgical/anesthesia teams and interdepartmentally, using data-driven and analytic methods

  • Interest in working to support quality initiatives and other administrative priorities

The Department

  • Highly functioning, independent, and self-motivated group of 6 RNs and 1 Nurse Practitioner

  • An involved Medical Director who provides leadership

  • Hospital-based

  • Well supported program focused on optimal patient outcomes and continuous improvement

  • Surgeries are scheduled Monday-Friday 9:00 am – 5:30 pm.

  • Proposed schedule for the Pre-Op Screening Nurse Practitioner is 4 days per week, 8-hour days.

  • Epic EHR
