WestRock Company Instrument Tech Intermediate in Longview, Washington
The opportunity:
Intermediate Industrial Instrument Techs perform a variety of maintenance related tasks in connection with the maintenance department to improve the reliability and up-time of equipment used in the pulp and paper manufacturing process. You will work alongside other trade professionals under the direct supervision of a Journeyman Electrician or Instrument Tech.
How you will impact WestRock:
Install system components and wiring in compliance with all applicable instructions and procedures; NEC, NESC, NFPA and the UFC.
Test, inspect, clean, repair, dismantle, adjust, replace, assemble, and maintain flow, temperature, pressure, level and analytical equipment at prescribed intervals.
Repair instruments per vendor documentation. Calibrate instruments per specifications. Return equipment back to service. Loop check instruments back to the control point.
Help maintain and update instrumentation files.
Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair instrument equipment and consult directly with instrument equipment vendors on problems for resolution.
Perform periodic field inspections of instrumentation.
Work with other departments in the planning of and installation of new equipment and system upgrades.
Maintain tools and work area in a safe and clean manner. Maintain prints and files in proper place.
What you need to succeed:
Successful completion of a formal or vocational education program within the last three years or have worked in an industrial manufacturing environment as a sub journeyman Instrument Tech or E&I Technician 2 out of the last 5 years.
Basic knowledge and experience in computer usage.
High School Diploma or G.E.D
Must be able to work rotating shifts.
Must be able to pass a multi-phase physical.
Must agree to complete sub-journeyman training program through training and testing provided by the company to reach Journeyman level status.
Compensation Offered
- Starting wage of $29.15/hour.
