Description Robert Half has a full-time opportunity for Staff Accountant candidates who want to become a critical part of an innovative company. To thrive in this position, you will need to be driven by a challenging work environment with many components. In this Staff Accountant role, it will be critical for you to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. To succeed in this role, you will need to perform internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. Located in the Longmont, Colorado area, this position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work. You might be our ideal candidate, if you are a detail-oriented and analytical thinker with a talent for creating Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets.

Your responsibilities

  • Participate in various department-wide initiatives

  • Regular maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries

  • Impromptu reporting and special projects, when requested

  • Compose journal entries and conduct the month end close with minimal supervision

  • Become well-versed in month end balance sheet account reconciliations

  • Handle intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation

  • Coordinate and analyze a variety of financial data, then report it in a way that is useful and understandable

  • Arrange schedules for capital lease and monthly payments

  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

  • Assist with the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks

  • Assemble analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management reporting

  • Maintain fixed asset ledgers, depreciation, and reconciliation

  • Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls. Also ensure that accounting procedures comply with GAAP Requirements - Notable analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks

  • Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

  • 2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

  • Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines

  • Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills

  • Solid understanding of journal entries

  • General ledger experience required

  • Accounts Payable (AP) experience

  • Foundational knowledge in Accounts Receivable (AR)

  • Self-starter and strong ethical standards

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent

  • Knowledgeable of ERP systems

  • Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
