JGS Lifecare Admissions Coordinator in Longmeadow, Massachusetts

Admissions Coordinator ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION Coordinates admission process for the facility. Ensures the admission process is correctly understood. Collects all necessary information in order to complete all paperwork needed in the admission process. Maintains records and files. Assists staff, residents, and family members with the admission process. Other duties as deemed necessary/appropriate and as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High School graduate. One year previous experience in medical admissions Understanding of health care and insurance. Ability to communicate and relate positively, effectively and appropriately with residents, families, visitors and other facility personnel. Strong organizational, customer service, and interpersonal skills required. Strong knowledge of computer systems, applications, and other office equipment. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Requires occasional standing, walking, bending, reaching above shoulder level, crouching and pushing/pulling. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, without assistance. Requires frequent sitting, writing, looking at CRT screen and typing on keyboard for long periods of time. Ability to see, hear, feel, read, write, and verbalize clearly in English. RESPONSIBILITIES Coordinates admission process, including facility tours, ensuring proper completion and receipt of paperwork. Prepares admission charts. Verifies insurance coverages for admissions. (IVANS/Medicaid) Completes Admission Packet sign-in with residents and/or families. Coordinates with Case Management, Social Services, Nursing and Finance Departments, as needed. Performs general clerical duties. (Admissions-related copying.) Responds to admission inquiry calls and drop-bys from the public. Ensures rooms are physically ready for admissions with Housekeeping and presents rooms to family.
