•Collaborate with sales and management executives and design team to develop ideas for new products.•Sketch rough and detailed drawings of apparel or accessories, and write specifications such as color schemes, construction, material types, trimmings, and accessory requirements.•Meet, discuss and collaborate with design team in Japan and elsewhere in the creation and finalization of designs for submission to and approval by sales and management executives.•Direct and coordinate workers involved in drawing and cutting patterns and constructing samples of finished garments.•Review completed pattern designs and recommended changes to ensure they comport with the clothing design.•Testing and deciding on fabrics, trims, colors, patterns and textures for each design.•Developing CAD sketches and creating tech packs with detailed specifications and mood boards.•Creating images, pictures and samples of fashion designs, cost sheets and product lists.•Deal with assess and source suppliers for fabrics and trimmings and manufacturers of clothing in the United States, Japan and abroad and advise management of assessments•Assist in marketing and attend and represent company in trade and fashion shows.Requires four years’ experience in the design of men’s high-end fashion outerwear and casual wear for established fashion label(s). Must have proven ability to create designs that contribute to increased sales. Four years’ experience with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
